In the different variations of the Serious Game Transaction, students act as managers of a virtual company. Transaction serves as a semester-long application of knowledge acquired during the course of study. The business simulations are self-paced, which means that students have flexible access to the content in terms of time. When used as part of the Flipped Classroom concept, the business simulation, the classroom session, and previously produced videos are coordinated in terms of timing and content. Management successes and the solving of questions and problems relevant to the lecture then impact the final semester grade.
